250 START 2024 San Francisco Supercross First Qualifying-5766

250 MAIN EVENT RESULTS // SAN FRANCISCO SUPERCROSS

Racing is now live from San Francisco. Riders will hit the track with only one qualifying session under their belts as the rain has continued to come down in Oracle Stadium. Track crews have been working hard the last few hours to make the best possible conditions for the riders as they prepare for the gate drop. RJ Hampshire again was on top for qualifying even with a crash and looks to carry that momentum into racing. A surprise came from Max Stanford who was able to qualify second overall out of the B group which had a smooth track to ride. Nate Thrasher, Max Vohland, and Levi Kitchen all looked quick as well and will try to keep it up front in racing. Starts are critical this evening to keep themselves out of the mud and keep clear vision throughout racing. For the results be sure to check down below.

250 MAIN EVENT RESULTS

RJ would go down with a lapped rider and struggle to remount the machine in the deep mud.

The start of the 250 main was a drag race into turn one as all the riders wanted to avoid the mud as much as possible. Jordan Smith came away clean with the lead but unfortunately for championship competitor Jo Shimoda, he found himself on the ground down the first rhythm. The bad luck would continue for Jo Shimoda as just a few turns later he was stuck in the mud with what seemed to be a bike issue. RJ Hampshire who did have a decent start was sitting around 5th until making a mistake and going down getting him stuck in the mud. Maximus Vohland would run into problems after going down where it seemed he’d be unable to get his bike going to finish the race. Levi Kitchen would maintain second throughout the race gaining time on Jordon Smith little by little. Phil Nicoletti who has been known to be a good mud rider proved his point riding comfortably in third in front of his teammate Garett Marchbanks. In the end, Jordon Smith led from start to finish solidifying the win.

250 HEAT 2 RESULTS

Levi Kitchen almost had the start on his teammate but would get pushed out wide in turn one and slide back into third. RJ Hampshire would get around him pushing him back to fourth.

At the start of the second heat, Max Vohland and teammate Levi Kitchen were the first to the line but as Max Vohland pushed out wide due to lack of braking power in the mud, Ryder DiFrancesco was able to slip up the inside and make the move into the lead. Hampshire would quickly climb his way into second as he was jumping most of the larger jumps in the hectic conditions. It would almost take him down though as he came up short on the finish line double battling with Vohland. Nate Thrasher would start in the back of the pack which was concerning for his overall finish in qualifying for the main event. He would however start to climb the ranks rather quickly getting himself into a transfer position. Unfortunately, the bad luck would continue with a tipper in the whoop section on the last lap. Ryder DiFrancesco would go on to win his first heat race.

250 HEAT 1 RESULTS

Jordon Smith was fast from the gate drop and tried his best to manage the gap between himself and Jo Shimoda.

Out front first was Jo Shimoda followed closely by Jordon Smith. Having a clear track is exactly what Jo Shimoda was looking for as he was able to almost instantly create a gap between himself and Jordon Smith. In the first few laps, Jo Shimoda was able to gain around a four-second lead. Around midway Jordon Smith was able to start decreasing that gap but ended up going down in the whoops. Garrett Marchbanks did have a tipper towards the end of the heat but was able to maintain the third position behind Shimoda and Smith.
