MAGGIORA MXGP RECAP: GAJSER WINS, JORGE CRASHES & SACHA COENEN DOES IT AGAIN

The big 450 news of the Maggiora Grand Prix was that Jorge Prado was squeezed into the bank, got run over and tumbled into the path of another bike and got plowed. He got up limping and tried to continue, but eventually pulled into the pits. The latest word from Jorge about the crash was. “I got a bit hurt, and the bike was damaged. I pulled off after a lap because I felt a little hurt, but everything seems fine. I just need to take it easy for a couple of days, and I should be okay to fight for the win in Indonesia!” The first of two Indonesian GPs will be two weeks on June 30.

Tim Gajser won in the mud at Maggiora and extened his lead in the 450 class over Jorge Prado.

Meanwhile in the 250 class, last week’s winner Sacha Coenen went on to win his second-ever 250 Grand Prix victory with 3-1 score. In what was equally amazing, first, second, third and fourth were all KTM-mounted, while fifth, sixth and seventh, were on other Austrian brands. That meant the top seven overall in the 250 class at Maggiora were on bikes built in Mattighofen, Austria.

Sacha Coenen (19) took the 250 Grand Prix victory for the second week in a row.
