BREAKING NEWS! CHASE SEXTON TO RACE 2023 RED BUD NATIONAL
Chase Sexton is returning to racing this weekend for the 2023 Red Bud National. A practice crash after the Fox Raceway National left Chase with a concussion, and he also was diagnosed with mono at the same time, a similar sickness to Epstein Barr, which comes from overtraining. We were not sure when the return of Sexton would be, but we are happy to announce that the “23 “is back in action. Chase is coming off a 2-2 from the first round at the Pala national, where he scored a total of 41 points, and is still currently sitting 15th in the Championship standings. Red Bud is a home track for the Illinois native, and it’s the track where Chase helped Team USA win the Motocross Des Nations last summer with teammates Eli Tomac and Justin Cooper.
The news of Chase re-joining the series comes as a small surprise, as the 2023 Monster Energy 450 Supercross Champion has been relatively silent on social media lately, not sharing any updates on his condition. A few days ago, we thought that none of the members of Team USA’s Motocross Des Nations winning team would be lining up this weekend, with Tomac out for the summer with a torn Achilles, Chase out with a concussion and Justin Cooper out with a neck injury. Then, the Star Racing Yamaha team announced Justin Cooper’s return to racing on Wednesday before the race, and Honda shared the news about Chase coming back this weekend on Thursday.
Hopefully Chase Sexton is able to challenge Jett Lawrence this weekend, and make the 450 class a little more exciting.
