450 OVERALL RACE RESULTS // 2023 BUDD’S CREEK NATIONAL

The 450 class has made its way to Budd’s Creek, just outside our nation’s capital. Just Four motos left, we saw Jett Lawrence lock up the Championship last week and continue his streak of 18-0 race wins. Some other riders still trying to gain valuable points at the end of the season and want to end Jett’s streak, Chase Sexton, Dylan Ferrandis, and Aaron Plessinger, to name a few. Will Jett continue the streak to Ironman? Check out the results below.

450 MOTO ONE RACE RESULTS

In the first moto, Adam Cianciarulo got off to a great start leading the pack, followed by Plessinger and Barcia. Jett Lawrence had one of his worst starts this season and immediately started going to work, passing Dyland Ferrandis and Jason Anderson. He then would set in behind Barcia and start observing different lines. Chase Sexton, who seemed to be the closest competition to Jett Lawrence, had problems early in the moto when overjumping into a rut sent him off the track.

Around 15 minutes in, Jett Lawrence was able to set up Barcia and make the pass into third. He then set his sights on Adam Cianciarulo in second. Lawrence was around Cianciarula within a lap, putting pressure on the leader Aaron Plessinger. A few corners later, Jett was to the lead and immediately started to create a gap on the rest of the field. Behind Jett, Jason Anderson began to make a move as he was able to get his way around Adam Cianciarulo and put the pressure on Aaron Plessinger.

Towards the end of the moto, Jett Lawrence stretched his lead to over ten seconds. Dylan Ferrandis would do some late moto battling, as would Marchbanks and Cianciarulo. Masterpool would end up fighting for eighth place, holding off the charge from Chase Sexton at the end of the moto. Jett Lawrence would go on to win.

After being passed by Jett early in the moto, Jason Anderson would not lose touch keeping the leaders in sight.

450 MOTO TWO RACE RESULTS

In moto two, Jett Lawrence made it easy on himself and picked up the holeshot, followed by Adam Cianciarulo and Justin Barcia. Barcia would go on and sneak into second and start to give chase to Lawrence, who did not pull his normal early lead. After a few laps in Chase, Sexton made his way up to the back wheel of Barcia, where they would battle for a few laps. After passing Justin Barcia, Chase Sexton put his head down and cut Lawrence’s lead to within two seconds.

Unfortunately, prior to the midway point of the moto, an all too common occurrence of Chase Sexton going down happened once again. As he was pressuring Jett, Chase dove to the inside line after Henry Hill. Unfortunately, what looked to be a great move in the making took Chase’s front wheel, and down he went. Jett would open up an eight-second lead by the time Chase got moving.

Justin Barcia and Aaron Plessinger battled for the majority of the moto. Aaron and Justin were tied for third overall, and the rider with the better second moto result would take the position, which was a lot on the line for these riders. Since Anderson was behind Barcia, Plessinger would ultimately pass for third, giving Aaron second overall. In the end, it got very intense, Sexton ran down Lawrence and put in his best effort to make the move, but it was not enough to get the job done, and Jett got his 20th win.
