450 OVERALL RESULTS // 2024 THUNDER VALLEY NATIONAL (UPDATED)
450 RACE RESULTS // 2024 THUNDER VALLEY NATIONAL
Coming into the 2024 Thunder Valley National, Chase Sexton has the red plate and the points lead after a monumental race last weekend, where he went 1-1, putting KTM on top of the podium for the first time at a 450 Pro Motocross race since Cooper Webb won on his Red Bull KTM at the Spring Creek National in 2019. Last weekend also was the first time Jett Lawrence lost a 450 Outdoor National after he crashed while leading on the first lap of 450 moto 1. Jett’s 24-6 moto scores dropped him to sixth in the 450 point standings, 24-points behind Sexton. Of course, Jett bounced back strong at Thunder Valley, qualifying first once again, and he has the pole position going into the motos today.

450 OVERALL RESULTS: THUNDER VALLEY NATIONAL
Jett goes 2-1 for the overall win.
Justin Cooper grabbed the holeshot again with Hunter Lawrence and Jett Lawrence right behind him, but it was Chase Sexton who passed Jett early and then made an aggressive block pass on Hunter to get into second. Then, Chase pressured Justin Cooper on lap two and got right next to Justin, but the Star Racing Yamaha 450 rookie was able to fend him off.
Then, after pressuring Justin for nine minutes, Chase Sexton tried to be aggressive and make the same pass on Cooper that Haiden Deegan put on Tom Vialle in the 250 class, but Chase wasn’t able to make it happen and he went down. This dropped Sexton to seventh place, who was lucky not to be hurt after an unusual style of crash. Hunter was only 1.3 seconds behind Justin Cooper, with Jett 3 seconds back and Jason Anderson only 5 seconds back after 12 minutes of racing.
Justin Cooper held very strong out front with Hunter and Jett following him, and then, with just over five minutes to go, Jett was able to pass his brother and immediately start putting pressure on Justin for the lead. With two minutes and two laps to go, Jett and Hunter were both able to pass Justin Cooper and take over the first and second positions.
All the way down to the wire, Hunter Lawrence pressured his brother, but it was last year’s Champion, Jett Lawrence, who grabbed the second moto win and the overall, with his brother right behind him at the checkers.

Hunter pressured his brother down to the wire, but Jett was able to get the overall win with 2-1 moto scores.
450 MOTO 1 RESULTS: THUNDER VALLEY NATIONAL
Hunter Lawrence wins 450 moto 1!
The first 450 moto was delayed an extra thirty minutes due to lightning strikes in the area, but luckily the track wasn’t affected at all by rain and racing was able to get underway with a great track.
Justin Cooper grabbed the holeshot with Justin Barcia second, Aaron Plessinger third, then Anderson, Hunter Lawrence, Jett Lawrence and Chase Sexton. Jason, Hunter and Jett all passed Plessinger on the first lap. At nine and a half minutes into the race, Anderson made his way past Barcia and Hunter Lawrence got by the number 51 as well. Meanwhile, Justin Cooper is running strong out front, 7 seconds ahead of Anderson and Hunter Lawrence who were battling for second. However, once Hunter finally passed Jason, Jett was able to get by him quickly as well.
Halfway into the moto, Justin Cooper had a 5-second lead on Hunter, a 6.7-second lead on Jett for third, and Chase Sexton got by Jason for fourth, 11 seconds behind the leader. As the race continued, Jett and Hunter were able to catch and pass Justin Cooper with three-minutes left on the clock. Then the question arose, will Jett try to pass his brother? Or will he let the older brother get his first 450 moto win? With three laps to go, Hunter led with his brother Jett 1.9 seconds behind him. Then, Chase Sexton went down hard while trying to catch the leaders in fourth, and he dropped to sixth. Then, with two laps to go, it looked like Jett Lawrence settled for second and decided to save some energy for moto 2 as he began to lose some time to his brother Hunter.
